The Plantation Ladies’ Golf Association
The Plantation Ladies’ Golf Association is an 18-hole ladies’ group located at Plantation at Leesburg. PGRC membership is not required. If you enjoy playing golf in a league according to USGA rules, we’re the group for you.
Wednesday Play Day
PLGA plays mainly on Otter Creek (red and teal tees) and once a month on Cranes Roost (red and silver tees). Members will receive Golf Genius notifications from our pairings committee on Thursday afternoon for the next Wednesday’s play. You can indicate if you are playing or not playing. Monday afternoon, you will receive a notification about who you will be playing with.
All Wednesday games have an 8:30 AM shotgun start. Meet at the picnic tables behind the Pro Shop at 8:00 AM to pay and find your foursome. The cost for the game is $3, and winners are paid in credit toward Pro Shop merchandise. Optional closest-to-the-pin and skins prizes are also available. We play a variety of games: net and team.
When your $25 yearly dues are paid, you are eligible to play for prizes. Many ladies plan to stay for lunch at the Oaks after playing on Wednesday. This is a great time to share the day’s golf triumphs (and disasters) and to make new friends.
Birdies
On Wednesday, during league play, circle any birdies you make on your scorecard. If this is your first birdie as a member of the PLGA, you will receive a birdie pin at the awards part of the Closing Event Luncheon in April. Wednesday eagles also receive a pin.
Hole-In-One Club
A $5 check payable to PLGA and turned into the Pro Shop (memo hole-in-one) makes you a member. Any day you make a hole-in-one on either Otter Creek or Cranes Roost (with a witness), you receive $1 per paid-up member of the club.
2 Club
Buy a $5 “2” pin from a PLGA member who is in charge of the 2 Club and display it on your shirt, hat, bag, or cart. When you make a 2 on any hole, any day, any course, other members of the 2 Club in your foursome will each pay you $1! Of course, you will owe $1 to any member who makes a 2 while you are playing with them.
