The Manor opened its doors in 1989 and has since served as the center of activities for the community. When The Manor first opened it had a small bar which is now a card and game room (Room 209), a billiards room which is now the library, and a small fitness center which is now the model train room. There were also many adjustments made over the years. Originally the stage had a semi-oval bump out. This was removed to allow more seating and a large 40ftx40ft dance floor. Fred Roth, a Plantation Resident, oversaw many technical enhancements over the years, most notably the lights, sound system, and the Fred Roth Booth. In 2024 The Manor went through a new technical update. The stage lights were changed to LED lamps allowing color changes to take place and no heat. The sound system was upgraded allowing more use for events. One of the more exciting additions was our new 189-inch rear projection movie screen allowing us to show quality movies and presentations. While The Manor has seen many changes over the years there is one thing that has remained constant: joy, friendships, and memories are felt every time you step foot inside. From painting a picture in an art class to singing the wrong words to a song while you dance, The Manor is your place to enjoy your time while on your permanent vacation.
